| Note | The GE Fanuc RX3i PacSystems IC695EIS001 module is an Ethernet IEC 104 server module which implements the IEC 60870-5-104 protocol. The IC695EIS001 module allows RX3i controllers to interface with Ethernet networks over TCP/IP connections. When an IC695EIS001 module is installed in a RX3i rack, the controller can be configured as a server on an IEC 104 protocol and it allows for data exchanges with IEC 104 client devices. The IEC 104 protocol is a client/server network protocol which was originally developed for electric utility sector applications involving the distribution and transmission of electrical power. The IEC 104 protocol has subsequently developed into a widely used network protocol which is based on a 3-layer architecture. Two auto-sensing 10/100 Ethernet ports allow for direct connection to eight 10/100 Mbps Ethernet networks without needing an external transceiver. The IC695EIS001 module's Ethernet ports can support line, star ,and daisy-chain topologies. The RS-232 station manager interface supports data rates of 1200 to 115200 bps. The IEC 104 server module on the IC695EIS001 module supports a maximum of 8 connections to the RX3i controller data set and it supports RBE and interrogation for regulated step, single point, and double point data and it supports a 56-bit time format.
