Overview

The TACH100 is an automation component from Bently Nevada. It is part of Bently Nevada's industrial automation product portfolio.

Application & Technical Notes

As an automation component, the TACH100 is intended for deployment in panel-based control cabinets and machine enclosures where the Bently Nevada product portfolio equipment is installed. It performs a defined automation function within the control system and is selected to match the installed Bently Nevada platform.

Specific electrical and mechanical ratings depend on the exact configuration and suffix of the part; the original datasheet should be consulted for the definitive specification.

Maintenance & Diagnostics

Avoid condensation — the rated humidity is 95% max, noncondensing; store and operate the module in a dry, pollution-degree-appropriate enclosure. Inspect terminals and connectors for corrosion or looseness, and confirm the module seats correctly in its carrier. Always de-energise the circuit and follow lock-out/tag-out before handling; refer to the official instruction bulletin for service procedures.

Sourcing & Procurement

When sourcing the TACH100, distinguish three supply tiers: (1) genuine Bently Nevada stock from an authorised distributor; (2) compatible equivalents or surplus/NOS (new-old-stock) from third parties; (3) alternative parts offering equivalent function. Genuine supply carries the full warranty and traceability; compatible or alternative items may be cheaper but should be validated for form, fit, firmware and certification before use in a live system. PLCXpert publishes this page as an independent reference and does not sell the part — verify every claim with the manufacturer or your distributor.

Confirm mechanical and electrical compatibility with your Bently Nevada product portfolio installation and the intended function. Lead times and pricing vary by region and lifecycle status; obtain a current quote from an authorised channel rather than relying on stale listings.

It is often used when a permanent monitoring system is located some distance away (e.g. in a control room) or when no permanent monitoring system is installed and speed indication is required at the machine. The digital tachometer is a compact unit, containing its own power supply that can power a Proximitor sensor (-24 Vdc). The tachometer also accepts signal and common wires from an externally-powered Keyphasor Proximity Probe (such as may be available when a permanent monitoring system is installed). The wires can be connected in parallel with the Keyphasor input on the monitor rack or to the Keyphasor probe itself. Inputs Signal From any Bently Nevada Proximitor Sensor. Threshold Automatic adjustment. Hysteresis 0.2 Vdc to 2.5Vdc, fieldadjustable. Events Per Turn 1 to 99, field-adjustable.
